Delete your Copl account

This page is for the app Copl, published by Pontus Brunzell, sole trader. You can delete your account and everything attached to it here. You do not need the app installed to request deletion.

Option 1: delete it in the app

This is the fastest route, and the deletion happens immediately.

Open Copl
Go to Settings
Choose Delete my account
Confirm. You are asked twice, because it cannot be undone

Option 2: request deletion without the app

If you no longer have the app, or you cannot get into your account, email us instead:

Request deletion by email

Tell us which email address you sign in with, so we can find the right account. We confirm the request and complete the deletion within 30 days. We will never ask for your password.

What gets deleted

Your account and your sign-in credentials
Your profile and profile picture
Your mood check-ins, your closeness data and your private notes
Your membership of the relationship
Your body measurements and training data, which only you can access

What stays

Copl is built for two people, and some content belongs to both of you. Shared data stays with your partner when you delete your account: family members, calendar, to-do lists, shopping lists and meal planning. It is their data as much as yours, and it does not disappear because you leave.

If you want the shared data gone as well, you both need to delete your accounts, or end the relationship in the app first.

How long it takes

Immediately: the account closes and you can no longer reach it
Within 30 days: all data is hard-deleted from the database
Within 3 months: it leaves any backups that still contain it, since backups older than three months are deleted

Before you delete

You can take all your content with you first. In the app: Settings, then the export function. Anything end-to-end encrypted can only be read out from your own device, so the export has to happen before the account closes.
